Chairman of Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Receives EU Commissioner for Enlargement
06/02/2010
Vijeće ministara Bosne i Hercegovine
Chairman Špirić expressed his hope that today’s EU – Western Balkans meeting would sent out positive messages to create a new optimism in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Chairman Špirić asked that a declaration to be adopted at the meeting should clearly indicate that citizens of B-H would get visa-free regime, and so without any particular concessions towards B-H, other than EU valorising B-H authorities’ efforts at fulfilment of demanding Visa Liberalisation Road Map requirements. Commissioner Füle stated his positive attitude towards this request.
The meeting stressed the importance of taking responsibility for political processes within Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Chairman Špirić and Commissioner Füle talked of a need for adoption a Law on Census in B-H and implementation of the European Court for Human Rights Award in case “Sejdić and Finci vs. B-H”.
The Chairman of the Council of Ministers said that the Council of Ministers has had an ambitious plan to implement the Award by the time of announcement of General Elections, but that a political will for that cause missed. He said that new possibilities should be sought for the implementation of the Award - in line with suggestions expressed in a letter sent by Füle - underlining that the Council of Ministers assigned a Working group to propose a new Award Implementation Action Plan.
