Chairman of Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda Meets ICMP Delegation

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda meet with a Delegation of the International Commission for Missing Persons (ICMP), led by its Chairman Thomas Miller and Director General Kathryne Bomberger, to discuss the process of search for missing persons. 

The Delegation of the International Commission for Missing Persons was comprised by ICMP Director for Western Balkans Adam Boys and Commissioners H.R.H. Queen Noor, Rolf, Ekeus and Wim Kok, respectively.

At a press conference after the meeting, Chairman of the Council of Ministers said that he discussed with the High ICMP Delegation the continuation of activities and completion of the process of search of missing persons.

“We discussed modalities of implementation the Law on Missing Persons in BIH, promulgated eight years ago, which served as an example to other states, and which implementation is,  unfortunately, still pending”, Bevanda said.

ICMP Chairman Thomas Miller said the ICMP is proud at the assistance it has been extending since its founding, in 1996.

“In cooperation with families of missing persons, authorities and civil society, the IMP managed to identify over 70 per cent of reported unaccounted for persons”, Miller stated adding that the ICMP’s activity is of an humanitarian nature and that it brings an ease to families which lost their closest ones, regardless of their ethnic origin.
