Chairman of Council of Ministers of BIH Receives Prime Minister of Republic of Italy

In his press statement following the meeting, Chairman Bevanda expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Monty for a continuous support of Italy to our country on its way to the EU, and sincere friendship that this country has been demonstrating towards BIH in many ways.
Chairman Bevanda stressed the importance of linking business people of BIH and Italy with an aim at strengthening overall economic relations between the two states.
“BIH is very important for the EU enlargement, and we believe that with its special features and people living in this area BIH only can further enrich the EU, as a great family”, Prime Minister Monty stated.
He underlined that a faster approximation of BIH to the European Union is needed for its citizens to solve their internal problems, as it would serve as a good economic incentive.
Prime Minister Monty said he is encouraged by the Interreligious Meeting being held in Sarajevo, which clearly shows that the co-existence is possible.
He said that BIH and Italy, each on its own way, struggle against the crisis in an attempt to find a way out from the problems faced by citizens.
Reminding that a Contract on Economic Cooperation of BIH and Italy is expected to be signed soon, Prime Minister Monty stressed that Chairman Bevanda mentioned investment attractive sectors, such as Corridor V c, Adriatic-Ionian Motorway, Mostar Airport and energy sector.
Prime Minister Monti said that at the meeting with President of the European Council Herman van Rompuy, he initiated a convention of EU statesmen aimed to avoid encouraging the creation of forces within the EU that would act towards its break-up.
