Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina dr. Nikola Špirić received in Sarajevo today Governor of the Development Bank of the Council of Europe (CEB) Rafael Alomar. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Finance and Treasury of B-H Dragan Vrankić. 

The meeting discussed the CEB-funded projects implemented by B-H, with a special focus on the areas of return of refugees and displaced persons, and health and education sectors.

CEB Governor Alomar was interested for developments concerning the ratification of a Loan Contract for State Prison Construction Project, for which the Bank Managing Board approved EUR 19.3 million worth loan. Chairman Špirić said that with the establishment of the new seating of the Parliamentarian Assembly of B-H, on June 9, conditions were met for the contact will be ratified and the funds would become operational.

Chairman Špirić reiterated the importance of development and implementation of the projects aiming a sustainable return to rural areas.

The interlocutors also discussed a possibility of cooperation in water supply projects in Travnik and city by-Pass in Sarajevo, including a possibility of funding SMEs through intermediation of domestic banks, and funding for preventive action projects for flood exposed areas.

The meeting discussed also a Decision of the CEB Managing Board to increase its capital stock. Minister Vrankić said that a decision is under preparation to accept the Bank capital stock increase, and the decision will be considered by the Council of Ministers upon a receipt of needed opinions.

It was jointly assessed that the CEB has a stable portfolio in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that the cooperation unfolds on stable foundations.
