Chairman Bevanda Talks with US Secretary of State Clinton and EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Ashton

US Secretary of state Hillary Clinton and High Representative of the EU for foreign Policy Catherine Ashton talked today in the US Embassy in Sarajevo with Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda. 

At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman Bevanda expressed his condolence and concern because the hurricane that took life tools and caused enormous material damage. Also, he informed Ms Clinton of the current political and economic situation in BIH and fulfilment of the road Map requirements, agreed to in Brussels. He expressed his gratitude to the United States of America for their overall engagement in BIH and expressed his interest for the continuation of the US support to building of democratic Bosnia and Herzegovina, integrated into Euro-Atlantic institutions.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and High Representative of the EU Catherine Ashton gave s full support to Vjekoslav Bevanda for all activities he does in the capacity of Chairman of the Council of Ministers for the stabilisation of the situation in the state, and stressed that the US will in the future period of time stand firmly with BIH on its way towards the European Union, but they also underlined that Bosnia and Herzegovina needs positive changes and that both BIH leaders and citizens need to invest additional efforts themselves to fulfil the agreed-to obligations.

“Our states have an extremely good cooperation both bilateral and multilateral, and we are especially content with that. The most important goal of the Council of Ministers of BIH and of all BIH institutions is to fulfil its commitments under the Action Plan for Implementation of the Agreement on Stabilisation and Accession to the EU and NATO Alliance. In that regard, the cooperation we have with the US is of a strategic importance and your intensive support is extremely valuable to us ”, Chairman Vjekoslav Bevanda said at the meeting.
