Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received in an introductory visit newly-appointed Apostolic Nuncio in BIH, Msn. Luigi Pezzuto. During their cordial meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the Holy See and Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirming mutual will to strengthen traditional friendship between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Holy See in the future period of time. 

Underlining the importance of the Basic Agreement between BIH and the Holy See, Chairman Bevanda expressed is expectation of acceleration of the procedure of appointment of a representative of the Holy See into the Joint Commission for Implementation of the Basic Agreement between the Holy See and Bosnia and Herzegovina and Additional Protocol to the Basic Agreement between BIH and the Holy See. He, also, emphasised the importance of the care taking of Catholic believers, members of the Armed forces of BIH.

Nuncio Pezzuto thanked to the Chairman for the cooperation made to date, stressing his awareness of a complex situation in the country and his hpe that future joint meetings and discussions will contribute to the well-being of the State of BIH in a whole. He said that the Holy See is interested in return of refugees and that he fully endorses solution to the problem at the regional level.

Chairman Bevanda pointed at the importance of implementation of programmes to provide better conditions for accommodation of refugees, and informed Nuncio Pezzuti of the activities and support from the Interreligious Council of BIH.

Chairman Bevnada and Apostolic Nuncio Pezzuto concluded that the cooperation between the Nunciature and BIH Institutions is good and that the openness and joint commitment are mutually needed.

The Nuncio was accompanied by advisor of the Apostolic Nunciature Msn. Joseph Arshad and Msn. Dr. mate Zovkić.
