Chairman Bevanda Talks with Head of World Bank BIH Office

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda met with Head of the World Bank Office in BIH Anabela Abreu in Mostar, at a working lunch. 

Chairman Bevanda informed the Head of Office on current activities on the adoption of the 2012 BIH Budget. He said all conditions are met for moving forward from temporary financing to a regular budget financing, but that the current issue of retired formed soldiers slowed down the process.

Chairman Bevanda said that the Fiscal Council defined fiscal policies also to improve the credibility during talks with the World Bank and IMF.

“We seem to have mobilised all our energy to move forward, but as political manipulations caused a setback the Budget is still pending. However I am optimist and hopeful that at the next session we will enjoy the support of the Council of Ministers of BIH in a whole”, said Chairman Bevanda.

Head of the World Bank Office in BIH Abreu expressed her dismay for Chairman Bevanda will not be attending the Spring Meetings of the World Bank/IMF in Washington. She expressed the readiness of the World Bank to assist Bosnia and Herzegovina so that funds provided for Bosnia and Herzegovina would be reserved for eventual arrangement with the IMF.
