Chairman Bevanda Talks with EUFOR Commander Major General Brieger

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda talked in Sarajevo with Commander of EUFORM, Austrian Major-General Robert Brieger. 

Chairman Bevanda thanked to EUFOR Mission for all it has done thus far, especially for efforts to secure peace and stability in the country. He informed the Major-General of the current political situation in BIH, and of the results that the state has made on its way towards the Euro-Atlantic integrations.

Speaking of the EUFOR Mission operations in BIH, Commander Brieger said that his aim is to have BIH moving faster towards the EU and NATO, and that he will continuously provide his support to eth BIh Armed forces in terms of knowledge, advices in procedures, so that the Armed Forces of BIH adopt faster the standards required for joining the European Union.

Chairman Bevanda informed Commander Brieger of the meeting held in Brussels by the end of June, where a meaningful progress of BIH on its way to the EE was recognised, and where the Road Map with its deadlines was agreed, the timely implementation of which might make Bosnia and Herzegovina submit a credible EU membership application by the end of this year.

They both stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina is an extremely important stability factor, not only in the region, but in the wider area, and that the continuation of a good cooperation will be of a particularly important.
