Chairman Bevanda Talks with Chief of IMF Mission

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Vjekoslav Bevanda received today in a farewell visit head of Mission of IMF for BIH Costas Christou and IMF Resident representative in BIH Milan Cuc. On this occasion, Chairman Bevanda thanked for cooperation and support and stressed his pleasure with their professional attitude towards het State of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens. 

It was in two occasions that we started and successfully completed negotiations. Your contribution in this is immeasurable. Our negotiations were difficult, but took place with mutual respect and your special commitment to assist us. I hope that this new arrangement that we have concluded will not have the same fate as the previous one and tat the seriousness of all stakeholders at the political scene would be at a much higher level”, chairman Vjekoslav Bevanda said at the meeting.

Costas Christou thanked to Chairman Bevanda for his long-year cooperation, underlining that his own contribution in both agreed to arrangements was one among decisive factors for obtaining a positive opinion.

“You have had a very demanding job and you were a person responsible to coordinate and realise all agreed activities. To a large extend it was thanks to your professionalism and devotion to your function that we can see now a stable macrofinancial situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On behalf of all our previous Missions, I extend to your sincere gratitude”, Christou said.

On this occasion he introduced new Head of Mission in BIH Ron van Rooden, and reminded that the Arrangement First Review will start on November 7.

Chairman Bevanda informed the visitors of the activities on preparation of the 2013 Budget, and stressed the importance of adoption of the Global Fiscal Framework. He said that technical background for the IMF Arrangement Frist Review will be of a considerable higher quality compared with the previous period of time, and that the State level authorities will comply with the requirements from the Letter of Intent.

Chairman Bevanda welcomed Van Rooden to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and announced a full support and cooperation in the implementation of requirements from the Letter of Intent.
