Chairman Bevanda Talks with Ambassador Casey

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received in Sarajevo today Ambassador of the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in BIH Nigel Casey, with whom he discussed the current political situation in BIH. 

Chairman Bevnada informed Ambassador Casey of the achieved goals stemming from the Road Map in relation to both Sejdić-Finci ruling and setting-up and operation of the Coordination Mechanism on the EU Affairs.

Ambassador Casey commended efforts taken by Chairman Bevanda concerning the regional cooperation, and emphasised that recent meetings with Prime Ministers of Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro are the only way forward to achieve good neighbourhood relations, in view of advancing on the road towards the European Union. Chairman Bevanda said that the next meeting of Prime Ministers was scheduled to take place in April in Mostar.

Chairman Bevanda informed Ambassador Casey of impressions from yesterday’s meeting with the Holly Father in Vatican.

Ambassador Casey and Chairman Bevanda concluded that BIH priorities in the period to come must be the agreed-to Road Map requirements, which are the key for BIH’s successful application for the candidate status in the European Union.
