Chairman Bevanda Talked with Sarajevo NATO HQ Commander

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received in Sarajevo in an introductory visit newly appointed Commander of NATO HQ in Sarajevo Brigadier General Walter Lord. 

Chairman Bevanda expressed his gratitude for all the cooperation made to date, and said that a continuous work with the NATO was a decisive factor for our armed forces to become respectably trained and capacitated for participating in international missions.

Bevanda and Lord discussed the ways of solving the issue of military property, and underlined that it is necessary in time ahead to invest efforts for BIH to become a part of a large NATO family as early as possible. They focused also on the issue of elimination of surplus ammunition and mine-explosive devices.

Commander Lord said that the mission priorities in the future period will be the issue of military property, re-launch of defence review process and analyse of citizens’ needs so as to determine the proper format of BIH Armed Forces.
