Chairman Bevanda Meets with Prime Minister Džombić in Banja Luka

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda and Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Aleksandar Džombić talked in Banjaluka on current issues vital to the future cooperation. Most attention was devoted to the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the EU. 

”In order to avoid difficulties at the beginning of next year when Croatia is supposed to enter the European Union, and in order to meet special requirements, we discussed today on the improvement of needed coordination for laboratories accrediting. The issue of BIH laboratory accrediting was solved with the adoption of the BIH Budget, as funds were provided for construction of the “Brussels” border crossings”, Chairman Bevanda stated after the meeting. He announced a discussion on this and other topical issues with Prime Minister of the Federation of BIH Nermin Nikšić in Sarajevo tomorrow.

On cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, Prime Minister of the Republika Srpska Aleksandar Džombić said that the Republika Srpska Government is committed to provide to the Council of Ministers of BIH, within next seven days, a proposal of a credible financial policy.

“I expect the Federation of BIH to do the same, so that BIH could be able to send an invitation to the IMF for talks to be launched possibly this July”, Prime Minister Džombić stated.

He said that it was agreed that the Entity Governments harmonise their respective solutions for the military and state property and send them to the Chairman of the Council of Ministers.

In addition, they discussed a need for enactment of a Law on Power Transmission and on BIH Energy Strategy, by way of subliming the Entity Energy Strategies and verifying them as a single Energy Strategy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
