Press Releases

11/02/2017

At its plenary session in Buenos Aires (Argentina), the Financial Action Task Force took a decision to approve an „on-line visit“ to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a necessary step to the final removing of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the FATF „grey list“, which means that a FATF delegation will in the coming period visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to check on the sport the relevant laws and regulations and implementation thereof.

In June 2005, FATF adopted an Action Plan for Bosnia and Herzegovina for removal of deficiencies in fight against money laundering, aiming the harmonisation of the AML/FT system with the FATF recommendations.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has been from the very first beginning strongly committed to fully implement the FATF Action Plan, as was confirmed by the adoption of nine laws and regulations at both State and Entity levels, assessed by FATF as fully harmonised with the FATF standard.

Following successful activities by the Council of Ministers taken in the course of 2015, Bosnia and Herzegovina was lifted form the MONEYVAL grey list in September 2015, and put to a regular regime of progress reporting to MONEYVAL, as all other countries. Now, the phase of taking of the FATF grey list is in the process, and the Council of Ministers calls upon all stakeholders in the process to strictly apply the adopted legal acts for their proper implementation.
