Bevanda: Very Successful Visit to Belgrade

Chairman Bevanda and Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić stressed at their meeting that it is very important to further mutual cooperation in the area of the European integrations, and welcomed agreements signed to date in this area, including the Protocol between the Prosecutor’s Offices.
Prime Minister Dačić said it is necessary to build mutual confidence and pursue common interests for the purpose of overcoming the burdens of the past and leaving off its vicious circle. He stressed that Serbia is a guarantee of the Dayton Peace Accords and that it remains committed credibly to the respect to territorial integrity and sovereignty of BIH.
The Prime Minister announced a session of the Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation to take place in this March. Chairman Bevanda and Prime Minister Dačić concluded that it is important to bring to close the process of return of refugees and displaced persons, and urged the international community to fulfil the commitments it assumed. During the meeting, a hope was vowed that also a series of other issues will be dealt with in an acceptable and useful way. These issues are primarily the succession, missing persons, real estate etc.
Chairman Bevanda underlined the importance of realisation of the Refugees Housing Programme, saying that it is necessary to make additional efforts are necessary so that funds intended for this purpose would not be held with European administrative institutions.
“We will secure that all foreign donors’ money is kept with European banks, including already paid amounts, should be operative as soon as possible, with an ultimate goal to support the relevant population. It should be treated as a priority”, Chairman Bevanda said after the meeting,
He added that accession of Croatia into the EU and its leaving CEFTA represents a good chance for economies of both BIH and Serbia.
“A space and political support should be ensured for entrepreneurs so that they link and act jointly to the largest extent possible, and that the placement to other markets is guaranteed by a high quality output”, Chairman Bevanda said.
Chairman Bevanda and Prime Minister Dačić agreed that two states need to apply jointly for the European funds for the cross-border cooperation. As to the demarcation issue, they said that the major part o the border is defined, with only four disputable points, which will be defined by experts.

During his official visit to Belgrade, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda met also with President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Nebojša Stefanović.
Chairman Bevanda and President of the Assembly Stefanović discussed the strengthening of parliamentarian and economic relations between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and agreed that future cooperation between the two countries should yield concrete economic effects and measurable improvement of citizens’ living standard. Chairman Bevanda stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation within the region, especially in the European integrations processes.
