02/18/2014
Vijeće ministara Bosne i Hercegovine
Chairman Bevnada thanked to Minister for the assistance the people of Greece has extended to Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially pointing at Greece’ s share in the institutional development of BIH. He congratulated Minister Vanizelos for courageous decisions taken in at the time crisis, which lead eventually to the budgetary surplus. Speaking of the way to the European Union, Chairman Bevanda stressed that it is a priority, and that the European prospect of BIH is relevant to the region in a whole.
Minister Vanizelos supported the European road of BIH, saying that all have a chance to become a part of the European family of peoples. He added that Greece stands ready to offer all technical support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on that road during the Greek Presidency of the EU, emphasising the importance of maintenance of stability and the integrity of the state. Especially, Greece is ready to assist in the segment of energy policy, where the construction of transatlantic gas pipeline is a chance for developing a common good for the whole region.
Chairman Bevnada informed the guest of an idea, already presented by him to Prime Ministers of Croatia, Serbia, Monte Negro and Albania, of construction of the Adriatic-Ionian motorway, which would ultimately open new prospects for trade and improvement of economic and touristic potentials of the region.
Minister Vanizelos welcomed the idea, and asked Chairman Bevanda to use the opportunity to present the project and its feasibility at up-coming the EBRD Conference in London.
Chairman Bevanda and Minister Vanizelos agreed that the coming period of time should be devoted to staring-up activities and creation of new values, which represents the only proper way to solve a number of issues, the social ones in particular.
