Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received in Sarajevo today UNDP Resident Representative in BIH Yuri Afanasiev, with whom he discussed the future cooperation of the UND and Council of Ministers of BIH. 

UNDP Resident Representative in BIH Afanasiev informed Chairman Bevanda of the implementation of the five-year UNDP programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which programme circle is completed now. He expressed his satisfaction with the fact that out of USD 180 million planned to be spent on the programme, the UNDP managed to implement total USD 250 million worth portfolio in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He added that the UNDP currently assesses the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and based on tis results it will create a new five-year programme, which would be adjusted to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s needs.

Chairman Bevanda stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Euro-Atlantic integrations have no alternative in the future period, as it is the only way to ensure the well-being.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina’s priority is the economy dealt with by experts and economists. We have to create an environment, which focus will be a concern for entrepreneurs who contribute to a job-generation”, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH said.

UNDP Resident Representative Afanasiev is pleased for the aims of the Council of Ministers and UNDP’s are identical. He underlined that future UNDP activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be directed towards economic development, support to SMEs, rural development, social inclusion and minorities protection.
