Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received in Sarajevo a Delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia, led by Parliament Speaker Josip Leko. 

Chairman Bevanda informed the guests of the current issues of the strategic importance for BIH and of joint interest of both states. He said that there is a series of issues are in the process of solving, and emphasised that the Council of Ministers of BIH has already launched an initiative on amendment of a Contract on Border Crossing, so that the Contract is now in the process of receiving consent for ratification.

Chairman Bevanda stressed that BIH negotiates with the European Commission on adjustment of the Stabilisation and Accession Agreement and on Interim Agreement on Trade and Trade Issues. He added that a drop in exports is not good thing for either party, and said that the cooperation in the economic segment needs to be revitalised as soon as possible to the mutual interest. He said that maintenance of trade conditions should be a process and expressed his hope that experts from relevant areas will give their opinion to the satisfaction of both sides.

Speaker of the Parliament Leko stressed that BIH and Croatia are neighbouring, friendly and partner g countries, and that Croatia is interested for success of BIH in its strategic objectives such as EU and NATO membership, and that BIH should be a functional and democratic state.

Discussing on the Adriatic-Ionian Motorway and Adriatic-Ionian gas pipeline, Leko and Bevanda underlined the importance of these corridors and concluded that it is necessary to seek new and higher quality solutions.

The visit of the Croatian Parliament Delegation is the first official visit of the Republic of Croatia since it became the member of the EuropeanU nion.
