Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda talked in Sarajevo today with Director of the EBRD Office in BIH Libor Krkoska on a new EBRD strategy for Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is currently in the process of development.

Chairman Bevanda expressed his pleasure with the cooperation with the EBRD to date, especially in infrastructural projects, like motorway construction along the Corridor V c, and pointed that other than continued cooperation with public sector on infrastructural projects, EBRD activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina should focus on private sector development, which sets dynamics of development and create jobs, and this view was shared by Director Krkoska.

Director Krkoska said that in the period ahead, EBRD interest and support will remain in place for infrastructural projects in public sector, while the major part of its operations will be directed towards private sector development.

Director Krkoška handed over a draft EBRD strategy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, underlining that over the past fifteen years, EBRD implemented in BIH over 1000 projects worth more than USD 1.5 billion. He noted a tendency of inclusion more private sector development projects in EBRD portfolio in BIH in the past two years.

Chairman Bevanda informed Director Krkoska that the Council of Ministers of BIH recently adopted a legal regulation with a purpose to accelerate ratification procedures of international loan contracts, so that the procedures would be expedited, along with funds disbursement.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda thanked to Director Krkoska for EBRD’s contribution in the reconstruction efforts and continued support to economic development of BIH.
