Bevanda – Jagland: To Implement Sejdić&Finci Award
05/08/2012
Vijeće ministara Bosne i Hercegovine
“We summed-up the situation, and defined the exact position of BIH on its European path, we located neuralgic spots, primarily the non-implementation of Sejdić&Finci ECHR Award, Chairman Bevanda stated after the meeting.
He warned at a risk faced by BIH in case of lack of “a political agreement to be implemented and transferred to the Parliament”, in connection with the Sejdić&Finci ECHR Award.
Chairman Bevanda informed the guest on the current developments in respect to this year’s Budget, and explained his own views concerning the ECHR Award implementation, underling that the Award as such should be implemented in its entirety.
The Chairman of the Council of Ministers expressed his optimism that the current political discontents will be solved and that we will become a credible partner in the eyes of the Council of Europe and other institutions, as well as in our own view.
“I sincerely hope that BIH will not end-up at the side tracks, since all countries of the region advanced: Croatia is to become the EU member next year, and Serbia and Montenegro take major steps in that direction. I think that we, neither as ethic groups, nor as citizens deserve to remain at the end of column“, Chairman Bevanda stated.
The Secretary-General of the Council of Europe stressed that it is extremely important for BIH to move forward along with the neighbouring countries, adding that the only way to realise that is through the fulfilment of all obligations that the state undertook on becoming the Council of Europe member.
He warned that there is absolutely no way for the Council of Europe or EU to recognise one more parliamentarian elections to be held under the discriminatory Constitution in force.
“I think that it is the right reason to move forward urgently, to do some things before summer season, before the local elections scheduled for this autumn, followed by pre-election year, 2013, and one more parliamentarian elections. It is simply necessary to adopt solutions, which would be reflected to next parliamentarian elections”, Jagland stated.
He stressed that it is of a great importance to use the best way possible this favourable political momentum, to which Chairman of the Council of Ministers Vjekoslav Bevanda contributed, and to do an absolutely inevitable and necessary step in order to implement the ECHR Award.
