Bevanda: I Welcome Stronger EU Presence in BIH

Chairman Bevanda informed Ambassador Ischinger on activities of the Council of Ministers of BIH in the process of financial consolidation of Bosnia and Hezreovina’s Budget in the light of IMF/World Bank negotiations. He expressed his expectations that the new Stand-By Arrangement with the IMF will be approved by the end of this month which would unblock already approved European Union EUR 100 million worth support.
Chairman Bevanda said that the Council of Ministers is committed for the strengthening of regional cooperation and solving of all outstanding issues with its neighbours. He welcomed a stronger presence of the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina, underlining that road has no alternative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, on which there is a broad consensus within the country.
Ambassador Ischinger welcomed the European commitment of the Council of Ministers of BIH and said that it is a moral and political obligation for all Europeans to support the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He confirmed his personal support to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region in a whole and said he would engage for the issues of regional stability and development to be on the agenda of the next Munich Security Conference , so that the entire region would be treated in European political debates.
