Bevanda Hague Meeting
10/24/2012
Vijeće ministara Bosne i Hercegovine
Chairman Bevanda thanked to Britain for all it has done for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We have got another warning that we all together must take the situation seriously and that the international community is slowly losing its patience expecting us to do something for the benefit of our own country, which means that we should commit ourselves to what we were elected and paid from the State Budget”, Chairman of the Council of Ministers stated after the meeting.
He said that unblocking of all stalemates is expected from the political figures.
Minister Hague reiterated a strong support of the United Kingdom to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a single, sovereign and strong state.
“The British Government strongly believes that the future of BiH leis in tis NATO and EU membership, so we will do everything we can to support BIH on its way of fulfilment of these aims. Those who think that there are alternative ways are wrong and they undermine BIH and will not be our partners ”, Minister Hague stressed.
The British Foreign Minister said that the doors of the EU and NATO are open for this country, but that the decision on pace of moving through that door is on BIH political leaders. He pointed at a danger for BIH to lag behind its neighbours even more in the fulfilment of the Euro-Atlantic integrations requirements.
He reminded that a good breakthrough was made at the beginning of this year, which included an agreement over the Road Map in June, but afterwards no significant progress followed. We commended efforts taken in this sense by Chairman of the Council of Ministers Bevanda.
Minister Hague expressed his hope that BIH politicians will invest an additional effort to fulfil the obligations, in the interest of BIH citizens, especially in terms of the “Sejdić-Finci” award implementation, solving the issue of military property and agreement on EU coordination mechanism so that BIH can speak by one voice.
