Bevanda – Fini Meeting: to Foster Economic and Cultural Relations between BIH and Italy

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received in Sarajevo today President of the House of Representatives of Parliament of the Republic of Italy Gianfranco Fini, with whom he discussed the improvement of economic and cultural relations between two countries. 

They agreed that the political relationship between the two countries are open and friendly, and that the commodity exchange is also at a commendable level, although there is a mutual interest for the enhancement of cooperation.

President of the Italian House of Representatives Fini expressed Italy’s interest for strengthening of economic and cultural relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that there is a strong interest of Italy for development of joint projects in energy sector and tighter connecting of high education institutions of the two countries.

Chairman Bevanda said Bosnia and Herzegovina is interested for cooperation, and underlined that one among priorities of the Council of Ministers of BIH is the development of energy sector strategy of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a guide for foreign investors. Chairman Bevanda mentioned among the priorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina the stepping-up of implementation of the Corridor V c related infrastructural projects, together with the construction of the Adriatic-Ionian motorway to boost economy.

Chairman Bevanda expressed condolences, on behalf of the Council of Ministers, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and himself, to President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Italy Gianfranco Fini regarding a strong earthquake that affected North Italy and caused a number of victims.
