Bevanda: Bilateral Cooperation between BIH and FR Germany Marks Improvement in All Sectors

Chairman of the Council of Ministers f BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda met today in Sarajevo with Head od Department for East Europe and Caucasus of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of FR Germany dr. Leo Kreuz. 

“We are extremely thankful to German Government for the support and to you, personally. During your work with the Ministry for Economic Cooperation of Germany and through KfW (Development Credit Bank) and GIZ (Association for International Cooperation)”, you have followed the way of Bosnia and Herzegovina through many years and you have been always available for further development of bilateral cooperation which, during your term in office, has been substantially improved, both in financial and in technical domains. Citizens of BIH and the Council of Ministers of BIH are very thankful for that”, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevnada said in his address at the farewell meeting with dr. Leo Kreuz.

Chairman Bevnda especially raised the most important projects already implemented or on-going, financed by German Funds. These concern primarily, the rehabilitation of energy sector, water supply and sanitation, wind park Herzegovina-Mesihovina and windmills in Republika Srpska.

Mr Kreuz said that the cooperation at the projects was very successful. ”Over the past 14 years we managed together to find a way and people who were ready to adjust the interests and move together on realisation of projects which are important for all the citizens of BIH. This was an additional stimulus both for you and for us“, said dr. Leo Kreuz during the meeting, who takes office of CEO in the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, as at June 1.

The meeting was attended by Stephan Leudsdorff, KfW Director in Sarajevo , Christina Merkert, Deputy Head of Misison in German Embassy in Sarjevo, dr. Brigitte Heuel-Rolfm GIS Regional Director, and dr. Edita Đapo, Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH.
