Bevanda – Abreu: BIH Council of Ministers Fiscal Consolidation Measures and Structural Reforms Receive Full Support of World Bank

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda and his assistants met today with the Head of the World Bank Office in BIH Anabela Abeu, with whom, they discussed the current political and economic situation in BIH and the status of fulfilment of requirements stated in the Letter od Intention sent to the IMF. 

The interlocutors concluded that the cooperation is at an extraordinary level and that it resulted in measures continually contributing to the fostering of economic system, with an ultimate goal at economic growth.

Chairman Bevnada briefed Head of Office Abeu of the agreed-to implementation of the additional funding for SMEs in amount of USD 120 million, in addition to the implementation of the USD 40 million worth Irrigation Project. These decisions of the Presidency of BIH will be published soon in the “Official Gazette of BIH”.

Head of the WB Office in BH Abreu stressed that the fiscal consolidation measures and structural reforms implemented by the Council of Ministers enjoy a full support of the World Bank. They concluded that these policies should continue to be implemented in the period to come for the purpose of an accelerated strengthening of public finances.
