Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda met with World Bank Country Manager in BIH Anabela Abreu, with whom he discussed the current economic and political situation in BIH.

Abreau commended the successful completion of negotiations with the IMF and adoption of the Global Framework of Fiscal Balance and Policy, together with the 2014-2016 Framework Budget Document. She expressed her satisfaction for the agreed-to 2014 General Budget and for the continuation of structural reforms implementation.

Abreau expressed her concern in relation of DPL programme implementation supposed to support key reforms in both Entities. She said that it is necessary for the Entities to agree the sector in which to invest USD 50 million, since the framework strategy timespan expires in August 2015. She stressed that the rehabilitation of navigability of the River Sava is at a standstill, underlining that the project preparation took five years and cost USD 800,000, and added that it would be pity for the project to remain unimplemented due to non-compliance of the project underlying provisions the Entities already agreed by with the World Bank.

The meeting agreed that it is needed to continue with the dialogue and cooperation in order to create preconditions for a long-term political and financial stability and development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
