Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda received today in a farewell visit Archbishop Alessandro D’Errico, Apostolic Nuncio in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Chairman Bevanda and the Apostolic Nuncio exchanged their opinions on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Apostolic Nuncio D’Errico said that the appointment of Vjekoslav Bevanda for Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH has created a positive political environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Chairman Bevanda said that over the last six years, as long Archbishop D’Errico has served as the Apostolic Nuncio in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has brought about some positive developments in the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Holy See. He referred to signing of a Fundamental Agreement between BIH and the Holy See and of an agreement on spiritual counselling for Catholic believers, members of the Armed Forces of BIH, which both serve as legal grounds for further building-up of the friendly relations.

Archbishop D’eerrico expressed his pleasure with the fact that he gave his contribution to a legal regulation of mutual relations between BIH and the Holy See, underlining expectations of Vatican for the Fundamental Agreement to be implemented as soon as possible.

Chairman Bevanda thanked to Apostolic Nuncio in BIH Archbishop D’Errico for his previous diplomatic engagement and support to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that Archbishop D‘Errico is a true friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina that that their meeting should not be understood as a farewell visit, because he knows that real friends would never leave Bosnia and Herzegovina.
