Annual Progress Report for B-H Handed Over

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B-H dr. Nikola Špirić received in Sarajevo today Director for Western Balkans of the European Commission General Directorate for Enlargement Pier Mirel and Head of the EU Delegation in B-H and EU Special Representative Peter Soensen. 

Director Mirel handed over to Chairman Špirić the 2011 EC Progress Report for B-H and a document titled “Enlargement Strategy and Major Challenges in 2011-2012”.

The meeting discussed conditions for submitting a credible EU membership application, political and economic situation in B-H, as well as IPA funds coordination.

Chairman Špirić informed the visitors on the attempts made within the B-H Fiscal Council to reach an agreement on Budget Framework for 2012.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers pointed at a necessity of daily dialogue by legitimate political representatives in B-H, as a condition for overcoming challenges in the European integrations process.

A democratic solution to all outstanding issues, which hinder currently a more successful European Integrations of the country, should be found by way of an internal dialogue, stressed Chairman Špirić, making a remark that optimism must come from within B-H, not from outside.
