Council of Ministers of Bih Holds Its 78th Extraordinary, Phone Session

CHAIRWOMAN KRIŠTO TO SIGN A LETTER ON POLITICAL COMMITMENT FOR ACCEPTANCE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF FATF ACTION PLAN

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers Borjana Krišto was authorised at the Council of Ministers extraordinary session to sign on behalf of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a letter on high level political commitment confirming endorsement of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Action Plan and dedication of Bosnia and Herzegovina for its full timely and coordinated implementation.

A piece of information from the Ministry of Security had been previously adopted on the current status of BIH with FATF/ICRG procedure, indicating a need to sign a letter on political commitment on high level, following recommendation of FATF review of Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with implementation of its Action Plan.

Endorsement of the Action Plan represents a confirmation of political and institutional readiness of Bosnia and Herzegovina to continue, within agreed-to deadlines and pursuant to constitutional competences, implementation of measures for strengthening of money laundering prevention system, along with countering financing of terrorism and proliferation of mass destruction arms.
