Chairwoman of the council of Ministers if Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Krišto attended “Let’s Build Livno together” Business Forum. In her address she highlighted the importance of common action, use od natural resources and linking of knowledge of local citizens and diaspora for strengthening of economic development.
Chairwoman Krišto said that diaspora represents an extremely important partner in economic development of local communities, reefing to examples of returnees and their investment to their hometowns throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, including in Livno.
She underlined the necessity of continuous creation of favourable business environment in which the acquired knowledge and practice would result in concrete projects, new jobs mad long-term partnerships.
Speaking of the Constitutional setting of Bosnia and Herzegovina and competences of different levels of authority, she pointed at a need for continued effort at creation of policies for speeded up economic growth, strengthening of regional cooperation, implementation of sustainable infrastructure projects, and investment to the European Union initiatives.
During her address, she reminded at concrete breakthrough by the Council of Ministers, like EUR 70 mil-worth Energy Efficacy Agreement, 2025-2027 IPA III Financial Agreement worth EUR 140.5 million, and Inter-Governmental Agreement on Broder Crossings with the Republic of Croatia, which defined 58 border crossings, five of which of the first category, which contribute directly to a faster flow of people and goods. In addition, she mentioned numerous strategies directed to institutional strengthening, agricultural development and environmental protection.
At the end of her address, she said that success and harnessing of European funds depend mostly of a proactive approach by local communities, and that joint efforts only, of all-level of authority and businesses may secure a long-lasting progress and better prospective for all citizens of Livno.(end)
